On July 10, the Mirzoyan Library hosted a discussion organized by the Independent Center for Defence Studies on the impact of tactical and operational novelties demonstrated during the Second Karabakh War (and presented in the collection of articles "Storm in the Caucasus" published in 2021) on the nature of the current warfare.
Issues discussed:
Possible outcomes of the Second Karabakh War if it would have been continued.
The influence of UAVs on the role of "classical" aviation.
The consequences of the outdated tactics of the Armenian forces.
Exaggerated perception and presentation of UAVs (in particular, Turkish-made TB2) by the Armenian side.
The effectiveness of the Armenian AD system during the 44-day war.
Failures of Armenian personnel training.
Georgy Derlugyan, Professor of Social Studies at New York University in Abu Dhabi, kindly shared his perception of modern realities in broad context of sociological experience in different historical periods.
