A Storm in the Caucasus
By saying "old friend" we mean:
- In April 2018, the CAST released the collection "South Caucasus: Waiting for the Storm" with a detailed presentation of the regional balance of power, and a number of possible scenarios of the Second Karabakh War. Armenian audience then was busy with much more interesting and important things.
- In September 2021, the CAST released the "A Storm in the Caucasus" - the single research on the results of the Second Karabakh War. Late Konstantin Makiyenko immediately and accurately predicted what Russia's evasive position in this conflict would bring her. The translation into Armenian took almost a year and came out with a castrated foreword by the Independent Center for Defence Studies (Newmag publishing house considered it insufficiently politically correct; in addition, changing the cover design in accordance with the perception of office residents about the war).
Watch Ruslan Pukhov's interview: unlike numerous "well-wishers", he does not say what you want to hear, but how it really is.
